The famous streaming platform Netflix is constantly adding new content. Every month they deliver new movies and T.V. shows from some of the industry’s best writers and directors. Among their most popular shows you’ll find these two new series on the Netflix Trending lineup.
This political thriller drama takes us inside the white house and the daily life of an American President. Thomas Kirkman, an American politician named the designated survivor for the State of the Union address, suddenly rises from his position as U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to President of the United States after an explosion kills everyone that’s ahead of him in the presidential line of succession.
President Kirkman deals with his inexperience as commander in chief while looking to uncover the truth of who caused the attack. It originally aired on ABC, with over 10 million viewers, and successfully continued on the network for two seasons before being canceled.
After being picked up by Netflix in 2018, the series aired its third season on June 7th, 2019, which became the first season to air on Netflix’s global platform. (You can now watch all seasons of the show on Netflix)
I highly recommend this series to anyone interested in politics and drama thrillers. It’s a personal favorite for me because it not only involves politics but also a bit of comedy and romance. You’ll notice the cast face real-world struggles and political problems, a relate-able storyline that keeps you hooked from the first episode.
Always Be My Maybe
An American romantic comedy released on Netflix and in select theaters on the final days of May 2019. Once childhood friends Marcus and Sasha, who have not been in touch since a brief teenage fling ended badly. When Sasha returns to San Francisco to open a restaurant, romantic chemistry from their teenage years return. Marcus's fears and Sasha's fame and demanding career challenge the potential of their new relationship.
Though I have not watched this new series yet, it has received high ratings as well as good feedback from viewers and critics. It’s definitely on my future watch list.
